That’s one way to look at it I guess, I do think it’s weird in one way how important that Blue check is to some people…but on the other hand there are people that need it so people can’t impersonate them on Twitter to make them look bad so I see both sides of it.

I’m not opposed to a subscription service with a TOS that treats me like a CUSTOMER with rights instead of an arbitrarily fungible advertising target.
Very well put…as it stands now Twitter is totally reliant on advertisers for money…which makes them the customers and the users the product…a subscription service could help change that dynamic and take some of that power out of the advertisers hands…why should big corporations get to dictate what we can see and can’t see online?

It’s a service….an employee will have to be paid to go through all the documentation or whatever else is needed to prove you are you…that employee will have to be paid to do that…it’s not that unreasonable to charge for said service.
