With Playstation 5 just around the corner the offerings for PS4 will be less and less but for now they still have some gems coming out and I figured I’d highlight some of the ones that stand out to me…So without further delay let’s get to some of the games releasing in September 2020…like I said this won’t be every single game coming out, just the cream of the crop in my humble opinion.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (Sept. 8)

The very underrated RPG gets a new release in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning on September 8 and I for one can’t wait.
“The hit RPG returns! From the minds of the bestselling author R.A. Party Hard 2 (Sept. 8)

The sequel to the insanely fun stealth strategy game Party Hard 2 hits store shelves on September 8 and brings something unique to the genre.
“Party Hard 2 is a stealth strategy game about stopping parties by any means. Developed by Pinokl Games and produced by tinyBuild.
The thrilling sequel to 2015’s stealth strategy hit features a brand new character who gets caught up in a no-christmas-bonus situation. The only logical thing to do is to go on a killing spree at the corporate party.
A brand new 3D graphics engine allows for many more gameplay mechanics previously impossible in the game.”
The Sims 4: Star Wars – Journey to Batuu (Sept. 8)

This one should be an interesting entry seeing that it seems to have angers Sims and star Wars fans alike but maybe it’ll be more enjoyable than we all think…time will only tell and you can find out on September 8.
It’s just your same ole Sims game with a bunch of Star Wars stuff added in…seems like a foolproof sales plan to combine the two but I don’t think this one will go over well with gamers in the end.
Tamarin (Sept. 10)

The new release from Chameleon Games looks to be a fun , wholesome and family friendly 3D platformer and it’s due out on September 10.
“Explore an incredible interconnected 3D world, brimming with primate platforming and bug-splattering shooter action. Leap with the agility of a tamarin as you journey into the Northern wilderness on scenic routes through forests, fjords and mountains. Along the way you will chase mysterious electrical fireflies, discover a secret underground world of dancing ants, rescue innocent birds, and restore the tamarins’ once idyllic natural habitat.”
Wintermoor Tactics Club (Sept. 10)

I’m a sucker for a good tactics game and the new release Wintermoor Tactics Club not only looks like a great addition to the genre it also is a pretty unique addition.
“It was hard enough for Alicia to make friends at prestigious Wintermoor Academy before the whole school erupted into a snowball tournament! Now, her tiny Tactics Club must transform from nerdy nobodies into the heroes they play in their tabletop campaign, or they’ll be disbanded forever.
Discover the sinister truth behind the War of the Clubs in this cozy tactics RPG. Test your strategic mettle against an avalanche of strange and colorful characters. And don’t forget to make new friends!”
Bounty Battle (Sept. 10)

I always love when games crossover and feature characters from other games I love, the new fighting game from Merge Games Bounty Battle does just that and looks to be a solid fighter as well.
“Bounty Battle is the ultimate indie fighting game: a new 2D fighter, where you can pit your favourite Indie heroes against one another! Indie heroes from games like Guacamelee! Dead Cells, Darkest Dungeon & more battle it out in this fighter frenzy. Bounty Battle features over 25 fighters from over 20 different Indie games! Each fighter comes with their own Minion companion and unique abilities. Battle across levels inspired from the fighters’ native game worlds with up to 3 other players.”
Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York (Sept. 10)

A new addition to the world of Vampire: The Masquerade comes to PS4 on September 10 and promises to bring a more personal and in depth gaming experience for fans of the series.
“Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York is a visual novel video game in development by Polish studio Draw Distance, planned for release on September 10, 2020 as a stand-alone expansion to their 2019 game Coteries of New York. It is based on the Tabletop Roleplaying game and follows Julia of the vampire clan Lasombra, who investigates the death of the Anarch movement’s local leader. Throughout the game, the player makes decisions that cause the narrative to branch”
Minoria (Sept. 10)

A beautifully designed and unique game from Bombservice Minoria is another great entry from the underrated studio.
“Minoria is the latest and most ambitious game from Bombservice, and a spiritual sequel to the Momodora series, from the same studio.Fans of Momodora will find familiar aspects in the design and gameplay elements, as they master the ins-and-outs of parries, dodges, and a variety of different spells.
The presentation has evolved to an HD format, with aesthetics mixing 2D hand-painted backgrounds and cel-shaded characters.”
Spelunky 2 (Sept. 15)

The wildly popular game from Derek Yo finally gets it’s sequel on September 15 and in my opinion it’s one of the better offering for Playstation 4 this month.
“Spelunky 2 builds upon the unique, randomized challenges that made the original a roguelike classic, offering a huge adventure designed to satisfy players old and new. Meet the next generation of explorers as they find themselves on the Moon, searching for treasure and missing family.”
Pacer (Sept. 17)

The first ever arcade racing battle royal game hits shelves on September 17 and looks like it’ll probably be a freaking blast!
“Pacer, originally titled Formula Fusion, is a futuristic arcade battle royal racing game developed by R8 Games for Windows, PS4 and Xbox One. It is set to release on September 17, 2020.A kickstarter campaign by R8 Games was successful in securing over £79,000 to begin development on the game which was released as an early access version through Steam in August 2015. The game was re-branded from Formula Fusion to Pacer in early 2019.”
Crysis Remastered (Sept. 18)

A remastered version of the fan favorite hits store shelves on September 18.
“The classic first person shooter from Crytek is back with the action-packed gameplay, sandbox world, and thrilling epic battles you loved the first time around. What begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battleground of a new war as alien invaders swarm over a North Korean island chain. Armed with a powerful Nanosuit, players can become invisible to stalk enemy patrols, or boost strength to lay waste to vehicles. The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.”
WWE 2K Battlegrounds (Sept. 18)

WWE is releasing a different take on wrestling games with this newest entry made to be more over the wall and zany than their usual games.
“The world of WWE is your battleground with all-new, over the top, in-your-face arcade action as your favorite WWE Superstars and Legends battle it out in outlandish interactive environments around the world. Compete with your friends in your favorite match types with an arsenal of exaggerated maneuvers, special abilities, and devastating power-ups, including Steel Cage, Royal Rumble, Fatal Four Way and more, as Mauro Ranallo and Jerry “The King” Lawler call all the mayhem! Are you ready to enter the battleground?”
Dungreed (Sept. 24)

I’m a huge fan of Roguelite and Roguelike games and Dungreed looks like an interesting take on them, looking forward to trying this one.
“Dungreed is a 2D side-scrolling action game with 2D Rogue-LITE elements. You become an adventurer exploring a continuously evolving dungeon to prevent the town from being destroyed. Eliminate enemies, use a variety of weapons and magic, eat food, and defeat evil in the dungeon”
Going Under (Sept. 24)

Another unique take on a Roguelite game Going Under takes place in an office setting rather than a dungeon and hits shelves on September 24.
“Going Under is a roguelite-inspired dungeon crawler about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. You’ll wield office junk as weapons as you battle your way through the forsaken office complexes. Stab a demon with a thumbtack one moment, run over a goblin with a smart car the next–your options in combat are constantly changing.”
Mafia: Definitive Edition (Sept. 25)

In my opinion the Mafia games don’t get the credit they deserve and hopefully this newest release will get it that respect, it hits shelves on September 25.
“Part one of the Mafia crime saga – 1930s, Lost Heaven, IL Re-made from the ground up, rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organized crime. After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about falling in with the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon finds that the rewards are too big to ignore. Play a Mob Movie: Live the life of a Prohibition-era gangster and rise through the ranks of the Mafia. Lost Heaven, IL: Recreated 1930’s cityscape, filled with interwar architecture, cars and culture to see, hear and interact with. Re-Made Classic: Faithfully recreated, with expanded story, gameplay and original score. This is the Mafia you remembered and much more.”
The Walking Dead Onslaught (September 29)

Releasing just in time for the show’s finale the new Walking Dead game is completely different from any other Walking Dead game we’ve seen on PS4 so far, especially seeing all of them have been Telltale games so far. this time it gives us a VR experience and hits shelves on September 29.
“There’s no rest when survival is on the line. Step into AMC’s The Walking Dead on PSVR, Oculus Home and Steam VR. Prepare for an onslaught of walkers as you assume the roles of your favorite characters from the show, and confront the horrors and humanity of this apocalyptic new world.”
