5 TV Shows That Ended Perfectly

There are so many shows on television these days and the majority of them are complete garbage. Even when a show is good the producers usually end up rushing the later seasons as a result of greed and wanting to make as many profits as they can as quickly as they can or they just stop trying towards the end of a show and write the easiest ending they can think of. A perfect example of this is Dexter which was a series on Showtime about a Forensics expert that was also a serial killer. The ending made what was an amazing show into a totally pointless series of events but sometimes they do TV justice and end a show the right way. So let’s look at this glass as half full and talk about some shows that ended in ways that left viewers happy and satisfied. I’ll try not to spoil too much for the people that haven’t seen these shows.

Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy was about a family at the head of a motorcycle club and all the drama revolving around it. The series was created by Kurt Sutter and aired from 2008-2014 totaling 92 episodes over 7 seasons. It starred Ron Pearlman as the head of the motorcycle club, Katey Sagal as his wife Gemma and Charlie Hunnam as his stepson Jax. It garnered a huge following throughout its run and ended in a manner that not only wrapped up all the storylines in a nice neat little package but left room for spinoffs and prequel series if they ever wanted. Currently the spinoff series The Mayans is having a decent run on FX.

Breaking Bad

Revolving around the life of a high school chemistry teacher turned Crystal meth dealer named Walter White(Bryan Cranston) and his ex student/partner Jessie(Aaron Paul) the show is in my humble opinion one of the best shows ever made for television. With 5 seasons and 62 episodes it takes you on a harrowing, chaotic and life changing journey with characters you can’t help but root for even when they’re doing the worst of things. The show ends in a bittersweet manner but also in a way that left fans feeling that’s the only way it ever could have ended. There is currently a spinoff film on the way called El Camino and the prequel series Better Call Saul has done exceptionally as well.

The Sopranos

The Sopranos premiered in 1990 on HBO and ran for 86 episodes over 6 seasons and was about the Mafia and their families and how mafia life interfered with them living normal lives. It starred the late great James Gandolfini and Lorraine Bracco. I’m sure a lot of people will disagree with me on this one as there are plenty of people that didn’t love the ending but I love the unique way it ended and the fact no other TV show had ever done it in the past, it left things off where the viewer gets to make up their own mind about how it ends. There is actually a prequel series in the works right now which will star James Gandolfini’s son as a young Tony Soprano.

Six Feet Under

Yet another show that HBO did right Six Feet Under premiered in 2001 and ran for 63 episodes over 5 seasons. It focuses on a family that runs a funeral home but is really all about death and the many different ways it can affect people. The show ended in a manner that paid perfect homage to what the show was really about and left fans with no unanswered questions. It starred Michael C. Hall and Rachel Griffiths and it won 9 Emmy awards.

Seinfeld

Starring Jerry Seinfeld and running for 9 seasons Seinfeld is one of the longest running and best known comedy shows to ever air on television and also has one of the most memorable endings in TV history and this one I think is safe to spoil at this point. The show ends with the whole cast in a jail cell together doing their usual banter about life’s little mysteries and the comedy in everyday things. Jerry Seinfeld now has a show on Netflix Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee which is certainly worth a watch.

Why Preacher is the Best Kind of Twisted Television.

Developed by Sam Catlin, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for AMC Preacher is based on a comic book by Garth Ennis, it stars Dominic Cooper as the preacher who gains the power to make anyone do anything simply by speaking the words out loud, it also stars Ruth Negga as his love interest and Joseph Gilgun as his Vampiric best friend. The series just ended on September 29, 2019 wrapping up the fourth and final season. It’s a shame to see such a good show end but a great time to go over what made this show so great.

The show revolves around Jessie Custer(Dominic Cooper) a down on his luck and faith preacher who gains an incredible power and sets out to have a face to face with God himself, his girlfriend Tulip(Ruth Negga) and new best friend who happens to also be a vampire Cassidy(Joseph Gilgun) join him on this journey and all kinds of chaos ensues, I’ll try not to give away too much of the plot here but to truly describe this show like it deserves you need to describe the crazy cast of characters as they are what gives this show real life.

I’ve already mentioned the Preacher with a crazy power and his Vampiric best friend, not to mention Tulip his crazy badass no fear girlfriend but as the show goes on the cast of characters just gets crazier and crazier. There is a kid named Eugene who has a face that looks like an anus because he shot himself with a shotgun and lived, in the comics they call him Arseface. There are angels that are much dumber than you’d expect an angel to be, there is a man that runs an extremist Christian sect who has a bullet wound on the top of his head making it resemble male genitalia , he also has a replacement ear made of a vampire’s foreskin and if that’s not enough to make you want to check the show out Hitler also escapes from hell and joins in the fun and there is a clone of Jesus named Humperdoo.

I’m sorry to see the show end nonetheless it was an extremely enjoyable show to watch while it lasted. It’s probably not a great show if you’re easily offended as that seems to be a main theme of the show…Just how offensive can they be each week but in the best way possible. If you haven’t checked this show out I highly advise you do.

Parallels Between Game of Thrones and The Bible

While talking to my best friend this morning about the fact that the King James version of the bible has the word dragon in it 21 times and I realized that there are many other similarities between the Bible and Game of thrones, besides the fact they both speak of dragons let’s go over some of the other parallels, I’m going to be comparing the bible to the TV show as the books are not finished yet and I came up with all of this in about 30 minutes this morning so I’m sure I may miss some things, I’m not a big believer in the Bible but I do know the stories contained within it from when I was a kid and how close they are to some parts of Game of Thrones is actually kind of crazy.

Jon Snow

Jon Snow was the son of royalty, the rightful king and was raised by another man, Ned Stark and his wife, Jesus was the son of God and was raised by Joseph and his wife but that isn’t where the Jon Snow and Jesus similarities end, they were both betrayed by people they thought of as friends and died because of it, they were both dead for a prolonged amount of time before being resurrected and the room Jon Snow was shut in while waiting to be raised from the dead is very much like the cave Jesus was shut into while awaiting his resurrection, the similarities end though after they are raised from the dead as Jesus forgives his betrayers whereas Jon Snow executes all of his, it’s a working theory and it’s not perfect but the similarities are there.

Plague of Blood/Battle of the Bastards

The Bible speaks of 10 plagues and although I couldn’t find parallels with all 10 plagues I did with quite a few of them and the first plague in the Bible is a plague of blood. I equate this plague to The Battle of The Bastards on Game of Thrones as the battle left piles and piles of bodies and rivers of blood on the ground and was perhaps the bloodiest episode of the show.

Plague of Boils/Greyscale

“So the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ‘Take for yourselves handfuls of ashes from a furnace, and let Moses scatter it toward the heavens in the sight of Pharaoh. And it will become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and it will cause boils that break out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt’” (Exodus 9:8-9) is what the Bible says about the Plague of Boils and I can’t help but view Greyscale as its counterpart, a disease in Game of Thrones that grows all over the person’s skin like hard rock is close enough to boils for me.

Plague of Locusts/The Dothraki

Maybe a bit of a looser connection on this one but the bible says “…if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory. And they shall cover the face of the earth, so that no one will be able to see the earth; and they shall eat the residue of what is left, which remains to you from the hail, and they shall eat every tree which grows up for you out of the field” (Exodus 10:4-5). and I can’t help but think about the Dothraki and how they attack in huge herds of horses running over armies like nothing can stop them, although the Dothraki weren’t really portrayed as if they were a plague they did end up on the wrong side in the end of the show and they did take part in over running more than one army like a plague of locusts.

Plague of Darkness/The Night King’s Army

“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.’ So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days” (Exodus 10:21-22). The Night king’s name even implies darkness and the way the undead army washed over the north and especially the final battle at Winterfell was all about darkness, it’s not difficult at all to see the similarities here.

Plague of the First Born

“Then Moses said, ‘Thus says the Lord: “About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals.

Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again. But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel”’” (Exodus 11:4-7).

This one isn’t a perfect theory but think about it for a minute how many first born children actually made it to the end of Game of Thrones, Rob stark died, all of Cersei’s children died, Beside little Sam and Jon Snow I can’t think of any first borns who actually survived to the end of the series.

I’m still working on the theory as a whole and will update this when I come up with more, is there anything I missed that you thought of? let me know with a comment.

TOP 5 Alternate Versions of Spider-Man

Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and debuting in Amazing Fantasy # 15 in 1962 Spider-Man has become a household name and is known by comic book fans and by those that have never picked up a comic book in their life, most people when asked about Spider-Man would think of the original Peter Parker version but what some people might not know is that there have been countless different versions of the super hero and with all the talk about Spider-Man coming back to the MCU I thought it was a good time to go over some of my favorite versions.

Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

Created by the great Brian Michael Bendis this version of Spider-Man debuted in 2011 in Ultimate Fallout # 4, Miles Morales is an Afro-Latino teenager who takes over the moniker after Peter Parker is killed and his costume is quite different than the usual one and happens to be a lot of fans favorite version of the costume, this version was also in the recent animated movie Into The Spider-Verse, fans have grown to love this version of Spider-Man and I for one can’t wait to see him on the big screen or even the MCU if Sony permits it.

Spider-Girl

There are actually two characters that go by the name Spider-Girl but I’m talking about the Mayday Parker version here, first appearing in What If (vol. 2) #105 Mayday Parker is the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Parker from a future alternate universe, she would go on to star in her own comic and has even been part of superhero teams such as The Avengers, New Warriors and Fantastic Five and she shares the same powers as her father except with a little less strength.

Marvel Zombies Spider-Man

The zombie version of Spider-Man debuted in Marvel Zombies # 1 in 2015 , set in a parallel universe where basically everyone becomes a zombie and eats each other, Spider-Man ends up being one of the only super heroes to have guilt over what he’s done, although he still can’t stop himself from doing it, he is also the first of the zombies to turn on the other zombies.

Spider-Gwen

From alternate universe Earth-65 Spider-Gwen is a version of Gwen Stacy who debuted in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 in 2014 and was featured in her own comic shortly after, in the Earth-65 universe Gwen Stacy was bit by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker . This version has garnered a ton of fans and is one of the most popular iterations of Spider-Man.

Spider-Ham

Perhaps the most comedic take on the character this version is a pig with Spider-Man’s powers and hey how can you argue with that right? He debuted way back in 1983 in Marvel Tails Starring Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham, yes his name is Peter Porker rather than Peter Parker , it’s a dad joke of a name and I love it, his origin is quite unique as he was actually born a spider who was bit by the pig version of aunt May whose name was May Porker but before she bit him she was irradiated by an atomic powered hair dryer she invented, yea quite the origin huh, gotta love it.

Stranger Things Season 4 Confirmed

The Netflix science fiction series created by the Duffer Bros. has been renewed for at least one more season but with a multi year deal signed already we are poised to see a couple more seasons after this one as well, with it being Netflix’s most watched original series this is no surprise.

Stranger Things is set in the 1980’s and it can really bring you back and remind you what it was like back then. the nostalgia is a part of why this show has gained so much popularity and not just nostalgia for the setting of the series but for a couple of the actors starring in the show, with a lot of us growing up watching Winona Ryder and Matthew Modine it brings a nice warm feeling to see them on screen.

Although millions have watched the show I am sure there are still some people out there that haven’t so I won’t give away anything important about the plot but will say the show includes parallel worlds, horrific monsters, super powers and Dungeons & Dragons, there are a million reasons to love Stranger Things and I for one am thrilled that there will be more seasons to enjoy, with last season leaving viewers wondering about the fate of one of their favorite characters I am sure I am not the only one anxious for the new season to arrive, there hasn’t been a release date set yet but it’s just nice to know it’s coming eventually.

Five Reasons Why Keanu Reeves Is Basically Jesus

1. He Remains Positive No Matter What Life Throws at Him

When you see someone as happy and positive as Keanu Reeves pretty much always is you might assume they’ve lived a blessed life but Keanu’s life hasn’t been an easy one and he’s gone through some things that would make a lesser human being give up.

His Father bailed on him when he was only three years old, I can relate to this and tell you it can cause you to question your self worth throughout life,He is Dyslexic which I’m sure was part of why he dropped out of High School. His best friend died of an overdose when he was 23, his child was stillborn and his girlfriend died in a car crash not long after that, just one of these three things is enough to break a man and make him give up but here he is a global phenomena and modern day deity basically.

2. He Helped His Sister As She Battled Leukemia

Keanu’s sister Kim Reeves was diagnosed with Leukemia in the early 2000’s and had a decade long battle with it before emerging victorious, Keanu helped her through it all any way he could and donated millions to various charities in hopes of helping to find a miracle to help his sister. I can tell you from experience as my father passed away from Leukemia (CLL) 7 years ago and he fought the disease for a decade before succumbing to it that one thing I learned from it all is having family that cares be there for you through that is the most important kind of medicine.

3. His Charitable Nature

As stated above Keanu donated millions to charities in hopes of helping his sister Kim fight Leukemia but those are not the only charities he has donated to,Stand Up to Cancer is just one of the charities he has given to, others include PETA,The SickKids Foundation.

It’s not just donations to charities that make Keanu one of the most generous human beings around, he has stated that money is the last thing he thinks about and he even relinquished the money he would have been paid from The Matrix ticket sales allowing for a larger special effects budget. Just one more reason he’s one of the most selfless people on Earth.

4. He Doesn’t Act Like He’s a Celebrity

Another great thing about Keanu Reeves is just how down to earth and grounded he really is, with most celebrities there is a detachment from the real world to some degree but Keanu doesn’t seem to fall into that trap, he has been seen riding the subway in NY just like everyone else, even giving up his seat fora pregnant woman once, he has invited Paparazzi to sit down and eat with him, he has even sat down and talked with the homeless at times, not only is he not detached from the real world like most celebrities but he puts effort into staying grounded.

5. He is the Most Humble Person ever.

You will never hear Keanu Reeves bragging about how much money he’s made or about how he’s the biggest thing on the internet and this is perhaps the biggest reason he deserves some kind of sainthood , to be so successful and so loved by so many and not let that go to your head is something that 99% of us wouldn’t be able to do, Keanu Reeves reminds us that our species still has hope when so much of the rest of the world is trying to tell us otherwise.

Five Strange Mandela Effects That Will Blow Your Mind

Nelson Mandela

What is the Mandela Effect?

The Mandela Effect is a strange and so far unexplained phenomena where a large portion of the population remembers something differently than how it is in reality and although there are theories of why such as unknowingly switching from one parallel universe to another and retaining memories from the old universe or just the fact that human memory has been shown to be beyond flawed there are no solid explanations for the Mandela Effect.

The term Mandela Effect was coined because one of the first widely known cases of this phenomena involved Nelson Mandela and a very large amount of people remembering him dying in prison in the 80’s yet he lived until 2013 and certainly did not die in prison, other popular example of the Mandela Effect are the debated spelling of the Berenstain Bears Children’s books and the correct spelling of The Looney Tunes but I’m here to talk about some of the lesser known Mandela Effects.

1. The Fruit of the Loom Logo

Growing up I constantly saw Fruit of the Loom commercials and advertisements and even today the company is a household name, a lot of people ,including myself, remember the logo having a cornucopia behind it, even as I type this right now that is how I picture it. The company was founded in 1851 and in all those years has never had a logo with a cornucopia behind the fruit.

2. Oreos…Double Stuf to be more exact

Maybe it’s just because the correct spelling of the word “stuff” is with two F’s but I am once again one of the people that remember this incorrectly, I literally had to go look at a pack of Oreos after I found out about this one. The Double Stuf Oreo was introduced in 1974 and has always been spelled with one F but part of the confusion with this one could be that in the UK they are called “Double Stuff” with two F’s , it could explain some people remembering wrong but honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen Oreos from the UK nor have I seen commercials for them so it can’t explain it all away.

3. The Witch says What to the Mirror?

Snow White and Disney movies in general were and still are a big part of all of our childhoods, something that everyone knows and that has been part of growing up for decades and decades would surely be remembered word for word by now right? Seemingly no, as I remember the line in the movie where the witch asks the mirror “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” and yet it has always said “Magic Mirror on the wall…” , as a child and as an adult I have quoted this incorrectly as most of us have but not just us,movies and other books referencing this scene have always quoted it wrong as well…Strange right?

4. We Are the Champions Ends How?

This is another one I remember incorrectly but then again so is this whole list, The British rock band Queen has always been huge but with a recent television series and a movie released about the lead singer Freddy Mercury they are more popular than they’ve been in a long time, I have fond memories as a teenager singing along to their songs with friends and one of those memories is that when we sang “We Are the Champions” we always ended it with the words “of the world” but from what I can gather the song never ended in that manner, I for one will still be singing those words at the end of the song.

5. Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze was like The Keanu Reeves of the 80’s and had a great career in movies and television throughout his entire life. In 2008 he was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and passed away from the disease in September 2009 and that is how I remember it happening but you may be surprised to know that a good amount of people remember him bouncing back from the illness and making a comeback and that they don’t remember him passing away.

What Are Vaping Bans Really About?

Why has vaping been singled out?

With 10 deaths linked to vaping and over 500 cases of lung disease it is understandable that people would be worried about the health concerns but with Vaping bans happening all across the world and especially in The United States right now are people going a little overboard with their concern?

Cigarettes kill over 1300 people a day, probably even more and we’ve known this for decades, yet no one has even tried to ban cigarettes at all, why is it that vaping has caused only a tiny fraction of the issues that cigarettes have but cigarettes get a free pass? well that’s because tobacco companies have lobbyists that pay our politicians to keep smoking legal, like the rest of the world and all it’s problems it all comes down to the money.

I have no doubts that vaping isn’t good for you, inhaling any chemical into your lungs is going to have adverse side effects but I feel very strongly that if they are going to let us as adults choose whether we kill ourselves with cigarettes then we should get the same say with vaping.

The health concerns are real but have been extremely inflated and the tobacco companies are behind that. The vaping industry is the only challenger big tobacco has ever had that has a chance of putting them right out of business and they are making sure that vaping goes away as quickly as they can, vaping may be bad for you but it isn’t even close to as bad for you as tobacco is and these bans will drive vapers right back into the arms of big tobacco.

A lot of people might think “well why don’t they just quit both vaping and smoking”, it’s an addiction and by definition is extremely hard to quit, let’s give the same sympathy and understanding to people addicted to Nicotine as we do for drug addicts, all I’m saying is please let us vape in peace.
