Early Saturday morning as protesters were taking a stand against police brutality and racism a woman would exit the clouds of tear gas and sit naked in the middle of the street for all to see. With the world we live in a woman putting herself in a vulnerable position like this in protest of something is beyond brave.
The photo is getting lots of attention on Twitter today and the internet in general but you can get a pretty good idea of how people feel about it just by browsing some tweets, so let’s take a look at a few.

People are referring to the woman as #NakedAthena, a fitting moniker for sure.
“She emerged as an apparition from clouds of tear gas as federal agents fired pepper balls at angry protesters in the early Saturday darkness.” @RichReadReports on the “Naked Athena” of Portland, with a photo by @killendave for the @Oregonian:

People describe her as though she is some kind of mythical figure.

It’s seemingly totally legal as well.
Before it was over, she struck ballet poses and reclined on the street. She also sat on the asphalt in a yoga-like position, facing officers, before they left. https://t.co/VU5eRmtZNJ

Performance Art or protest…or both?
“She stood calmly, a surreal image of human vulnerability in the face of an overpowering force….” #Portland https://t.co/tvJvHjBRyZ
